I am a member of the Ghana Institute of Geoscientists, where I currently serve as Vice President for Public Affairs. In this role, I contribute to the advancement of professional standards, ethical practice, and effective engagement between geoscience professionals, industry stakeholders, and public institutions within Ghana and the wider region.
I also serve as an Advisory Group Member of the West African Exploration Initiative (WAXI), a regional programme dedicated to strengthening mineral exploration across West Africa. Through this engagement, I provide strategic and technical input on exploration targeting, capacity building, and policy-related matters that support sustainable mineral development and responsible investment.
In addition, I actively participate in regional and international geological and mining forums, conferences, and technical working groups. These engagements enable collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the promotion of best practices in geoscience, mineral resource management, and institutional development across Africa.
I am a highly experienced geologist with more than 28 years of professional experience spanning geological mapping, mineral exploration, geoinformation management, and strategic leadership within the public sector. My career has focused on supporting national development through the generation, management, and application of geoscientific data for sustainable mineral resource development.
Throughout my professional journey, I have played a leading role in the planning and execution of large-scale geological mapping and mineral exploration programmes, including the supervision of multiple national field mapping projects and the updating of district mineral occurrence maps. I have contributed to policy formulation, institutional capacity building, and the strengthening of geoscience data systems to support informed decision-making at both national and regional levels.
I have also been actively involved in major international and donor-funded initiatives, including World Bank–supported projects focused on landscape restoration and responsible small-scale mining. In addition to my national responsibilities, I contribute to regional and continental geoscience governance through leadership and advisory roles, promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and best practices in mineral resource management across Africa.
